Grapefruit Mocktail

Grapefruit Mocktail

Ingredients:

1 grapefruit, juiced

1/2 lime, juiced

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup sparkling water

Ice

Method:

1. Combine grapefruit juice, lime juice and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.

2. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved.

3. Remove from heat and let cool.

4. Combine grapefruit mixture and sparkling water in a jug.

5. Serve over ice.

Potential changes & improvements:

-Try using sparkling grapefruit juice instead of sparkling water for a more intense grapefruit flavour.

-Add a splash of gin, vodka or rum for a boozy twist.

-For a non-alcoholic version, add a splash of grapefruit juice or lemonade.

Works Well With…

-Pair with salty snacks like chips or popcorn.

-Serve as an aperitif before a meal.

Common Mistakes:

-Not stirring the sugar until it has dissolved completely. This will result in a grainy mocktail.

-Not letting the grapefruit mixture cool completely before adding the sparkling water. This will cause the sparkling water to go flat.
