Potential changes & improvements

– If you want a bit more of a kick, add a splash of vodka or rum to your glass.
– For a less sweet drink, cut down on the sugar or add more cranberry juice.
– Use any type of citrus fruit you like – limes, grapefruit, blood oranges would all work well.

What other food it works well with

As Virgin Sangria is quite a sweet drink, it goes well with food that is not too heavy or rich. Try serving it with:
– BBQ chicken or pork
– Salads
– Lightly flavoured pasta dishes

Common Mistakes

– Not enough fruit – the key to a good Virgin Sangria is plenty of fresh fruit to give it flavour and sweetness.
– Not letting the Sangria sit for long enough – the flavours need time to develop, so make sure you make it a few hours before you plan on serving it.
