Potential changes & improvements

There are lots of ways you can change up this recipe to suit your own taste or what you have available. Try using a different cheese, such as mozzarella or Gruyere, or adding in some chopped ham or bacon. You could also add some chopped herbs, such as chives or parsley. For a bit of a kick, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.

What other food it works well with

These bites are great on their own as a snack or light meal, but they also go well with other dishes. Serve them as part of a buffet or alongside some roasted vegetables or a salad. They would also be good as part of a main meal, such as a roast dinner.

Common Mistakes

One common mistake when making these bites is to overcook the broccoli. Be sure to only blanch it for a couple of minutes, otherwise it will end up being too soft and mushy. Another mistake is to not squeeze out all the water after blanching, which can make the bites too wet and difficult to shape.
