Apple Cinnamon Crepes

Introduction

Welcome to my recipe for apple cinnamon crepes! These crepes make a delicious and easy breakfast, dessert, or snack. They are made with just a few simple ingredients, and can be easily customized to your liking. This recipe makes about 10 crepes, but can easily be doubled or tripled if you need to make more.

Ingredients

-1 cup (250 ml) of milk
-1/2 cup (125 ml) of water
-1 cup (100 grams) of flour
-2 tablespoons (30 grams) of sugar
-1 teaspoon (5 grams) of baking powder
-1/4 teaspoon (1 gram) of salt
-2 tablespoons (30 grams) of butter, melted
-1 teaspoon (5 ml) of vanilla extract
-1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of ground cinnamon

Method

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, water, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Add this to the wet ingredients and whisk until everything is combined.

3. Heat a crepe pan or large skillet over medium heat. Grease the pan with a little bit of butter.

4. Pour 1/4 cup (60 ml) of the batter into the pan and swirl it around so that it covers the entire bottom. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the crepe is golden brown and cooked through.

5. Remove the crepe from the pan and place it on a plate. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Potential changes & improvements

-Try adding different fruits or fillings to your crepes. Some other great options include bananas, blueberries, raspberries, chocolate chips, or nutella.
-If you want a sweeter crepe, you can increase the amount of sugar in the recipe.
-For a savory option, try leaving out the sugar and cinnamon, and adding in some shredded cheese, ham, and/or veggies.

What other food it works well with

Crepes go great with a variety of different foods. For breakfast, try serving them with some scrambled eggs, bacon, or sausage. For a lighter option, enjoy them with a fruit salad or yogurt. And for dessert, top them with whipped cream, ice cream, or your favorite sauce.

Common Mistakes

-Not whisking the batter enough. Be sure to whisk until all of the ingredients are fully combined.
-Not cooking the crepes long enough. They should be golden brown and cooked through before you remove them from the pan.
-Trying to flip the crepes too soon. Wait until they are golden brown and cooked through before flipping.
