Far Breton

Far Breton

This is a traditional French cake that is made with eggs, milk, and flour. It is usually served with fruit, and can be made with different kinds of fruit.

-4 eggs
-1/2 cup milk
-1 cup flour
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/2 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/4 cup butter
-1 cup fruit (I used cherries, but you can use whatever you like)

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until everything is combined.

5. Fold in the fruit.

6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking dish.

7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Potential changes & improvements:

-If you want a richer cake, you can use heavy cream instead of milk.

-You could also add some almond extract to the batter for a different flavor.

-If you want a more cake-like texture, you can add an extra egg.

Works Well With…

-This cake goes well with coffee or tea.

-You could also serve it with some whipped cream or ice cream.

Common Mistakes:

-Not whisking the eggs thoroughly enough will result in a lumpy batter.

-If you add too much fruit, the cake will be too heavy and may not bake all the way through.

-Over-mixing the batter will make the cake tough.

Nutritional Information:

-This cake is high in calories and fat.

-It also contains eggs, milk, and flour, so if you have allergies to any of those ingredients, this cake is not for you.
